Where is “The Trossachs”
Purists would argue that the Trossachs is vey small area of land between Loch Achray & Loch Katrine. Over the years it has come to be interpreted as being the eastern side of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park including Callander & Aberfoyle.
There is however yet another additional definition the area covered by The Trossachs Community Council area – this stretches from the shores of Loch Venachar, Loch Achray & Loch Katrine and includes the summits of Ben A’an & Ben Ledi with the small settlement of Brig o’ Turk and Glen Finglas at its centre.
What does the Trust do?
The Trust was formed in 2001. It has a mandate to “deliver the advancement of community development including rural regeneration consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development”
It is steered by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the membership who are residents or property owners in the Community Area. Here is a list of the projects we have been doing in the last 3 years.
In 2020 the Trust partnered with Broadway Partners to deliver cost effective high speed broadband into the community via radio wave. For more information please contact Broadway Partners at broadwaypartners.co.uk
Community Action Plan

The Old Trossachs School
In 2021 the Trust bought the Old School. The Trust is now engaged in a programme of repurposing the school with a plan to re-open it in 2022. This is the biggest and most ambitious project the Trust has taken on so far.
